Another challenging start to the 2009 points race series. Anyone who’s been to the Chadron State Park and neighboring National Forest areas can attest to the spectacular terrain. And, again, the weather on race day added to the adventure. This year it started to rain/snow Friday night. Come Saturday morning race start time, there were two to three inches of the white stuff on the ground. Many of us expected last minute course modifications due to the weather, but Jim and Donna decided to run the entire course as planned: twenty two checkpoints – nine and a half hour cutoff time.
