Here's a list of what's happening around town.  Yeah, it's a short list right now - we're just getting started...
Do you know of something going on that we don't - contact us!
Weekly bike rides? club runs? special events, seminars or meetings? If it fits our mission of promoting outdoor activities, we'd like to add it here.

Omaha Urban MTB Team Enduro
Friends and fellow adventure racers:

You are invited to the first Omaha Urban Mountain Bike Team Enduro.
This is going to be a friendly (and free) show-and-go ride on the Omaha city trail system and will include loops through two of the finest single-track dirt courses in the area.  A few Check Points along the way (and maybe a surprise or two).  Distance will be roughly 30 miles on paved city trails/streets and each single track loop is about 5-6 miles.  This will be an unsupported 'for fun' ride.  Experienced riders only please.  Bring the usual adventure race gear.

Maps and instructions will be provided at the pre-ride meeting.  I'll keep things simple - no complicated navigating or instructions, no team challenges or running.

No official registration (an RSVP to adracbrian@yahoo.com would be nice to get some idea how many maps to print).  No prizes or awards - just personal and team accomplishment and bragging rights.  Estimated time to finish:  4-5 hours??? (the faster you go - the less you'll have to do in the dark).  Here's the best part:  You don't need to show up with a team - EVERYONE'S name goes in a hat (everyone who wants to be timed and ranked at the finish) and we'll draw for random team match-ups.  Probably 3 persons per team.  Your "team" must start together, stay together, and finish together.

Feel free to show up early and enjoy some appetizers at Qdoba before the start.  Plan to join us for a drink afterward at the Caddy Shack bar next door to Qdoba.

Gear List:
- hydration pack
- mountain bike
- helmet
- cell phone
- tubes/patch kit
- multitool
- personal first-aid (accidents can happen)
- pencil/pen
- bike lights -front and rear are highly recommended as you will be riding into dusk or possibly after dark!!!
- a good attitude, willingness to cooperate with others, and a desire to have fun.

The simple facts:
Who:  Experienced mountain bikers with legs and lungs enough to go 4+hours
What:  Free recreational group ride around Omaha
When:  Saturday August 23, 4pm pre-ride meeting & instructions, 4:30 start.
Where:  Start and finish at parking lot next to Qdoba Mexican Grill, 2101 N. 120th Street, Omaha Nebraska (one block north of Blondo on 120th)
Why:  Just for fun and camaraderie!
Fees:  None!  You must be self-supporting and you buy your own food and drinks.

In the case of rain or muddy conditions, we'll re-route the ride so as not to damage the single-track courses.  We will go rain or shine.  Course and distances may change as conditions dictate.
